For the mega cricketing tournament which has already started on 30th May 2019, former New Zealand aggressive batsman, Brendon McCullum, has predicted the future of all the teams playing in the on-going championship.
The veteran batsman predicted that India and England will lose only 1 match and will finish at the top two spots in the table making it to the semi-finals. According to him, India will only lose to England while Australia is the only team that will defeat the hosts, England.
Brendon McCullum posted an image on social media and wrote “World Cup game by game prediction. 4 teams will fight out the 4th qualifying spot and the net run rate will decide who progresses. Rain and luck will likely play a part as well. I hope Nz gets that little bit of luck and can qualify. Enjoy the 6-week celebration of the best players on the planet. 🤙🏼#CWC2019”
Australia will be the third semifinalist of the competition, but no clear predictions are there for the fourth team that will make it to the semifinals. The former New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman predicted that for the fourth spot the race will be among New Zealand, West Indies, Pakistan, and South Africa. All these teams will win the equal number of matches (5) and net run-rate will be the deciding factor.
Prediction results so far
The first four matches of the tournament have gone according to Brendon McCullum’s prediction, but in the fifth match, his prediction went wrong. He predicted that South Africa will defeat Bangladesh but the opposite happened, Bangladesh reached their highest ODI total and defeated South Africa.
