Women Redefining the Standards of International Women’s Cricket

Women’s cricket has been on a constant rise from the past few years, all credits to the players who put in lots of efforts to make the game interesting and entertaining. There has always been a popularity difference between men’s cricket and women’s cricket. However, off-late things seem to have taken a U-turn and the latter attracting its fair share of popularity.

One of the prominent players from the recently concluded T20 women’s world cup, this 16-year-old champ from Haryana has contributed big time to the popularity of women’s cricket. Her fearless gameplay is one of the key reasons behind her big liking across the nation. She has brilliant timing and is known for hitting big shots easily. She ended her T20 Women’s world cup campaign as the player with the best batting strike rate. Her performance in the forthcoming matches of team India will definitely attract a lot of attention. 

Poonam Yadav

Just like Shafali Verma, there was another player who was praised for her brilliant bowling skills during & before the T20 world cup. Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about Poonam Yadav. The 28-year-old leg spinner has found her way amongst the top-bowlers of the international women’s cricket. Her amazing courage and temperament are enough to induce mishit from batters. She has been one of the most relied upon wicket-takers for India women’s team.

Smriti Mandhana 

Giving up her career in the medical field, Mandhana found solace in cricket. At the age of 20-year-old, the player has achieved a lot including a world cup century, an opportunity to feature in foreign T20, a double-ton etc. She has been one of the key players for the Indian cricket team, courtesy to her hard-hitting batting skills. 

Shikha Pandey

The next on the list is another ace-bowler from the Indian team. She is well-known for being the only Indian Air Force officer to have played cricket for India. The 30-year-old all-rounder seeks perfection in everything she does. She can handle both the roles of a batter and bowler very well depending upon the need of the situation. Her consistent form & magnificent skills are enough to keep the spectators hooked to their tv screens.

Harmanpreet Kaur
