Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sevilla face off each other in Duisburg in the quarterfinal of 2019-2020 UEFA Europa League.
Wolves eliminated Olympiacos in the round of 16 to process into the final eight. After playing a 1-1 draw in the first leg, The English club managed to win the 2nd leg by 1-0 courtesy of a first-half penalty from Raul Jimenez. Nuno Espirito Santo's side missed the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League next season, after finishing 7th in the standings of the Premier League. The Europa League Title can earn them a place in the Champions League 2020-21. If they clear this round, we could see two Premier League clubs facing each other in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Sevilla defeated Roma 2-0 on Thursday night to earn the quarterfinal spot. Sergio Reguilon and Youssef En-Nesyri netted the goals for the Spanish outfit in the win. After finishing the 4th in La Liga, Sevilla qualified for the Champions League 2010-21 triumph and Los Nervionenses are now in the quest for their 6th Europa League title. Julen Lopetegui's side has won all three of their previous Europa League quarter-finals and they are unbeaten since the resumption of the Football leagues.
