After a series of disappointment, Hyderabad made a big decision to remove David Warner as the skipper and announced Kane Williamson as the new captain of the franchise. The decision was taken amid the poor performance of Hyderabad in the Indian T20 League 2021. They lost 5 matches out of six and with 8 more games remaining, the task of playoffs qualification looks tougher.
Kane has led Hyderabad to the final in 2018 and in 2019, Hyderabad made into the playoffs for the 4th consecutive time. Hyderabad franchise also issued a press release and clarified that team will make changes to its overseas lineup. Warner might be removed from the playing XI after his poor batting show in the previous game. Jason Roy can replace him in the opening slot.
