West Indies vs Bangladesh Match Preview

The 23rd match of the World T20 Cup will see West Indies and Bangladesh play against each other in the first match of the double header on Friday, the 29th of October. The match will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Both the teams have played 2matches each in the World Cup so far and both the teams have lost all their matches. Any one team among the two will register their first win in the Super 12 stage.

West Indies can do better

Two-time world champions and defending champions West Indies have had a very bad season, as they have faced defeat in both the matches they have played. In the first match against England, the batsmen played their worst cricket and the entire team was all out on 55 runs. Except Gayle, none of the batsmen could even touch the double figure and Gayle too could only score 13 runs. In the second match too, the performance of every batsmen except Evin Lewis was disappointing, Lewis gave a strong start to the team by scoring a half-century against South Africa but the other batsmen could not do much. Simmons also played a very slow innings.

Bangladesh needs improvement

Bangladesh have played two matches, and in the first match, the batsmen did a great job against Sri Lanka but the bowlers could not defend that score and Sri Lankan batsmen outplayed them. But in the second match against England, their batting was also not good enough and they could score only 124. Bangladesh will need to improve both their bowling and batting in order to pull a win against West Indies.

In the last match, the openers were flop, and they might get some runs in this match. Shakib Al Hasan failed to show skills with his bat in both the matches, being Bangladesh's top experienced player, he will have more responsibility as a batsman. Mushfiqur Rahim has played good innings in both the matches. But the other batsmen didn't get runs.

Weather Report

The maximum and minimum temperatures at Sharjah will be 34 and 23 degrees, respectively. The humidity will be around 60 percent with no chances of precipitation.

Pitch Report

Compared to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Sharjah's pitch is more supportive to batsmen than bowlers. Some teams scored well in the Super-12 matches at Sharjah ground. In the match against Bangladesh here, Sri Lanka chased down a target of 172 while Afghanistan scored 190 against Scotland. Looking at the batting line-up of the West Indies team, we can expect innings full of boundaries.
