Virender Sehwag’s reaction to India U19 WC semi-final win leaves Twitterati in splits

India colts crushed their arch-rivals Pakistan U19 by 10 wickets to storm into the finals of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup. 173-run target seemed like a cakewalk for India U19 as the duo of Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Divyaansh Saxena displayed great maturity and led the batting line-up. Twitter erupted as Jaiswal’s impressive knock (105 off 133) and Saxena’s unbeaten 59 off 99 deliveries took India to their third straight final of the U19 World Cup. After this landslide victory, former India cricketer Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to take a jibe at the opponents.

Known for his wit and punchlines on social media, the Nawab of Najafgarh posted the picture of the victorious India U-19 and captained it, “Ab toh Aadat si hai!” which translates to – We are accustomed to it now! Take a look below.

With this tweet, Sehwag tried to bring to everyone’s notice that India has developed a habit of defeating their neighbours in the cricketing field. After this semi-final victory, India U19 has won last four games against Pakistan in U-19 WC since 2012 and are now an inch closer to their 5th title.

Besides Sehwag, Indian cricket board's senior selection committee chairman MSK Prasad also applauded the U-19 side for their compelling win. He said, “Many many congratulations to India U-19 team for having successfully reached the finals with a thumping victory in quarters & semifinals. I wish the young bunch all the success in finals and defend the Cup”.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan also praised India U19 for their excellent performance. He wrote, “WorldCup Cricket U19..India beats Pakistan by 10 wickets..our opening pair took care of their entire total..FANTASTIC..well done boys..many many congratulations..you are in the FINAL now..JUST WIN IT”.

In the WC U-19 final, India will face the winners of the second semi-final to be played between Bangladesh and New Zealand.
