Video of DDCA Officials Fighting Goes Viral, Gambhir urges Ganguly to Dissolve Body

Former cricketer and now a Lok Sabha member, Gautam Gambhir on Sunday took to his official Twitter handle to request BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly to dissolve the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). It was after the officials of DDCA were found to be involved in a fist fight amid the state cricket body's annual general meeting held on Sunday.

"DDCA GOES 'ALL OUT'… AND DDCA IS ALL OUT FOR A SHAMEFUL DUCK. Look, how handful of crooks are making mockery of an institution. I'd urge @BCCI @SGanguly99 @JayShah to dissolve @delhi_cricket immediately. Surely, sanctions or even a life ban for those involved," the tweet read.

As per the reports, the brawl is alleged to have started after members of the body didn’t agree to on the agenda passed in the meeting. The 43-second-long video that is doing rounds on the internet showcases a man taking onto another member with his fist raised. Soon other people intervene between the two but ended up creating a big fiasco.

Later that day, DDCA released an official statement thanking people who attended the meeting without mentioning anything about the incident.

"Thank you members. The Board of Directors of the DDCA extends its sincere gratitude and thanks all its esteemed members for having attended the AGM of the Company on a chilly and cold Sunday morning and having extended their wholehearted support and backing the Board's vision and endeavour to take the Company to greater heights. Warmest regards," DDCA’s tweet stated.

After the meeting, DDCA announced  Justice Deepak Verma as Ombudsman, further mentioning that the election of the association’s president will take place on January 13.
