The United States squad for the upcoming World T20 Cup has been named. For the first time in the history of the tournament, the USA will not only play but also co-host the event. As they are one of the hosts, they automatically qualified for the tournament. Apart from the World T20 Cup, they have played only in one global event, i.e Global Champions League 2004.
Meanwhile, it is expected that the US might beat a higher-ranked team. They have been slated in the Group A with 2007 and 2009 winners, India and Pakistan respectively. Apart from this, the home side will also compete with debutants, Canada. The US will play at home in the first round.

About the team, A. Gous is the South Africa-born and bred cricketer, who qualified to play for the US only a few months back. C. Anderson played two World T20 Cups (2014 and 2016) and a 50-over World Cup in 2015 for New Zealand. Just like Gous, the left-hander qualified to play for his new national side only a few months back.Â
M. Kumar was part of the Indian cricket system and played in the Indian T20 League for Delhi and Bengaluru. S. Netravalkar played the Youth World Cup for India in 2010 while H. Singh played in 2012.
