For the first time in the history of the World T20 Cup, Uganda will be participating in the tournament. They qualified for the upcoming edition after finishing as runners-up in the Africa region qualifier. Alongside Namibia, Uganda qualified from the same region. Notably, the World T20 Cup debutants beat Zimbabwe, who were seen as favorites in the Qualifier.
However, to the surprise of everyone, Uganda managed to qualify. Notably, they haven’t played a single 50-over World Cup so far. The team has been slated in the Group C alongside 2021 finalists New Zealand, Afghanistan, hosts and two-time winners West Indies, and Papua New Guinea.Â
