Trinbago Knight Riders would take on Jamaica Tallawahs in the first semifinal of the tournament. Due to the pandemic, the playoff system has been scrapped from the league and both semifinals will be the eliminators. Trinbago had a remarkable campaign, winning all the ten matches in the league stage and finished top of the table. The top-order with Simmons, Munro, and Narine are providing a blistering start and in middle-order, the trio Darren Bravo, Seifert, and Pollard are playing the sheet-anchors. Trinbago also has a strong bowling unit with Khary Pierre, Jayden Seales, Akeal Hosein, and Fawad Ahmed. DJ Bravo is a top-class player and he can deliver at any situation for the team.
Meanwhile, Tallawahs made into the semifinals after a poor show from Barbados and St Kitts. If Barbados would have won one more match or Jamaica would haven’t shared a point against St Kitts in rainy-affair, the story was different but in the end, the luck favored them, despite not winning a single from their last four matches. Jamaica needed an incredible show to overcome Trinbago in the semifinal clash and the task is difficult as no team has produced a win against Trinbago in the current edition. Jamaica lost against Barbados and Trinbago twice in the tournament. Blackwood is a good investment at top-order and Phillips is in terrific form. If they settle for long on Tuesday, Tallawahs can upset the odds. The skipper can try Andre Russell up in the order. The bowling trio Lamichhane, Mujeeb, and Edwards are the key figures for Jamaica to stop the strong batting unit of Trinbago.
