After eight years, the Champions Trophy is returning with Pakistan hosting the 2025 edition. Notably, Pakistan won the last edition in 2017 before the tournament was scrapped. The tournament was replaced by the World Test Championship but has been brought back in 2021. Between 1998 and 2017, eight editions of the ‘Mini World Cup’ were played.

Former Sri Lanka skipper played 22 games between 2000 to 2013, having retired from the game in 2015. Meanwhile, in the ‘Mini World Cup’, the right-hander has scored 742 runs averaging 41.22 and striking at 84.80 including five fifties.
- S. Dhawan
Discarded India opening batter played only two editions in 2013 and 2017 but made a huge impact. In both editions, he won the Golden Bat for most runs in the tournament. After playing 10 games, the 2013 winner amassed 701 runs averaging 77.88 and striking at 101.59 including three hundreds and as many fifties.
- K. Sangakkara
The former Sri Lanka captain and wicketkeeper batter played 22 games between 2000 to 2013, having retired from the game alongside Jayawardene in 2015. Meanwhile, the left-hander has played 22 games and has 683 runs to his name averaging 37.94 and striking at 71.36 including one century and four fifties.
- S. Ganguly
The former India skipper led the team in the 2000, 2002, and 2004 editions. Ahead of the 2000 edition, the team was facing a match-fixing saga with some of the players getting banned. The team did well by reaching the final and shared the title with Sri Lanka in 2002. Meanwhile, the left-hander played 13 games and has 665 runs to his name averaging 73.88 and striking at 83.12 including three hundreds and as many fifties.

The 1998 winner has played 17 games from 98 to 2009. During these 11 years, the right-hander amassed 653 runs, averaging 46.64 and striking at 77.46 including one century and three fifties.
- R. Dravid
The World T20 Cup winning coach played between 1998 and 2009. Ahead of the 2009 edition, he made his comeback in the ODI side after being dropped in January 2008. Meanwhile, the former India captain played 19 games and has 627 runs averaging 48.23 and striking at 73.33 including six fifties.
- R. Ponting
The two-time Champions Trophy winning captain in 2006 and 2009 played 18 games between 1998 and 2009. During this, the right-hander has scored 593 runs averaging 39.53 and striking at 76.53 including one hundred and four fifties.
- S. Chanderpaul
The 2004 winner played 16 games between 1998 to 2006 and has 587 runs to his name averaging 53.36 and striking at 67.93 including five fifties.
10. S. Jayasuriya
The former Sri Lanka captain played every edition between 1998 to 2009 before he was dropped a few months later after the 09 edition. Meanwhile, the former opening batter has played 20 games and has 536 runs averaging 29.77 and striking at 88.01 including a hundred and a fifty each.
