To create this list we are omitting the top 10 players of all time and are sticking to players’ recent performance across all the 3 formats – Test, ODI and T20. We have also taken into account the current ICC rankings of the players.

So, here is the list of top 10 cricketers in the world right now:

10. R. Jadeja

Is there a better all-rounder than Jadeja in today’s day and age? No. Jadeja is ranked number 1 all-rounder with 384 points by ICC.

Jadeja has scored 5,392 runs so far in his career and has taken 481 wickets in all three formats. He still managed to score over 5,000 runs in his career, considering he bats so low in the batting order.

Bumrah arrived in team India when the nation needed a fast bowler. Since his arrival, Bumrah has done nothing but trouble batsmen with his deadly deliveries. Bumrah is currently the number 4 ODI bowler with 662 points in his bag.

Bumrah has taken 318 wickets, combining all three formats of the game. It just took 160 matches for Bumrah to grab the aforementioned wickets. The right-arm pacer is showing no signs of slowing down and will surely pick more wickets in the near future.

The leg spinner has taken 112 wickets in his 66 T20I matches. He has taken 158 wickets in 83 ODI matches and took 34 wickets in 5 Test matches.

7. T. Boult

Boult is the number 1 bowler of the ODIs with 745 points to his name. His overall performance from the start, middle and end of an innings makes him a lethal bowler and a must-have bowler in your team.

Boult currently has 7th best bowling figures in ODIs – 7/34. Moreover, he has taken 174 wickets in his 95 matches for the team. Boult also has 317 wickets in 78 Test matches.

The ‘Hitman’ of team India has several records to his name. Sharma is currently at the number seven position in the ODI rankings with 740 points to his name.

2022 has been a tough year for Sharma, yet he still secured his position in this top 10 list. R. Sharma has scored 16,000 runs in his career playing for India. The majority of his runs have come in ODIs, where he scored 9,376 runs with an average of 48.58. Additionally, he has scored 3,137 runs and 3,487 runs in Test and T20I respectively.

5. V. Kohli

Kohli has proved to be a once-in-a-generation cricketer. The Delhi native has been among the top players of the modern era. Kohli’s performance in 2022 has earned him 767 points, according to ICC.

Kohli has scored 12,344 runs in ODIs and has an average of 57.68, which is more than any batter on this list. His combined runs are 23,726 runs, including his Test and T20I runs as well.

4. K. Williamson

The skipper of the New Zealand team is the next entry on this list with 786 points in his bag. Williamson attained these points with his excellent performance in the Test format.

Williamson has a handsome average of 52.62 in his Test matches. In total, he has scored 7,368 runs playing the red bowl cricket. Additionally, he has scored 6,207 runs in ODIs, with an average of 47.38.

3. B. Azam

Azam surpassed a list of talented batsmen and became the number 1 ODI batsman with 890 points. The Pakistani batter made his debut in 2015 and quickly turned heads with his over-the-top batting style in the limited format of the game.

Azam has scored 4,664 runs in ODI and has an average of 59.79, which is the third highest average in the 50-over format. Furthermore, Azam has the record of scoring 2nd most runs in a series by a captain, 953 runs.

2. P. Cummins

Cummins is currently the number 1 Test bowler with 891 points in the bag. The Australian bowler is also the skipper of the nation’s Test team and is the vice-captain in the 50-over format of the game.

Cummins has taken 199 wickets in his Test career and has one 10-wicket haul, seven 5-wicket hauls and thirteen 4-wicket hauls with the red bowl. Moreover, the Aussie bowler became the 6th youngest bowler to take 5 wickets in an innings in Test format.

Root is currently the number 1 batter in Test Cricket and is awarded 890 points according to ICC. His brilliant performance in Test matches helped the English batter secure the all-time high points (923).

Root has scored over 10,000 runs in the Red bowl format, 10,472 runs. His current average in Tests is 50.34 with his highest score being 254. In ODIs, Root has scored 6,207 runs for England with an average of 50.05.
