Sydney FC will be squaring off against Melbourne City FC for the title clash in the Grand Final of A-League 2019-20.
Team Preview
Sydney FC takes on Melbourne City to defend their A-League title on Sunday. Sydney FC won the 2018/19 edition of the A-League and they’re eying to clinch record 5th league title to went past Melbourne Victory who had 4 titles. Sydney-based Outfit claimed a 2-0 victory against Perth Glory in the semifinal after the 24th-minute strike from Ninkovic and 28th-minute strike Fondre. Sydney FC has more reliability on striker Adam Le Fondre who has scored 19 goals this season but their defense created errors in a couple of last league fixtures which may cost them in the title defense. In the last five league fixtures, Sydney suffered three defeats, and two games ended in a draw. The current performance put them behind on the Championship Final.
Meanwhile, Melbourne City are entering into their maiden A-League final after defeating in-form Western United by 2-0 in the semifinal. The city has the best opportunity to add a maiden A-League Championship glory on Sunday and they require some clinical performances from Jamie Maclaren and Lachlan Wales. Maclaren has notched up 20 goals this season and also netted a goal through the penalty in the semifinal to give Melbourne an early lead. The final debutants had earlier defeated Sydney 2-0 this month. After a goalless first half, Noone and Mclaren netted winning goals in 57th and 68th minute to give their side a win. The current form makes City favourites in the final if McLaren has a great day on the field and the defense makes error for Sydney.
