St Lucia will collide against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the first game of Saturday ties in the Caribbean Premier League 2020.
Team Preview
St Lucia and St Kitts lock horns in the first affair after the Friday-break in the Caribbean T20 League. St Lucia continued their poor form in the opening game. In the opening fixture, they were outplayed by Jamaica, after a valiant effort from Roston Chase with the bat. Mohammed Nabi failed to deliver against Jamaica but his best performance came against Barbados. The middle-order issues are also terrifying St Lucia. They had some relief from Tridents’ affair but victory is the most important thing for them in next few matches.
Meanwhile, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are also on the same boat after losing the first two affairs in Caribbean Premier League. In the opening fixture, they slipped from the winning positive. They got Tridents’ 6 batsmen on just 79 but the down-order took Barbados to 153. In the chase, the Patriots’ approach was so dull as they fell short by 6 runs. The batting trauma continued in the second game against Guyana, scoring 127 while batting first. The bowlers made an impact in the 2nd innings but it was Hetmyer who single-handily crossed the line with 3 wickets in hand. Patriots had so many positives from both defeats and they could have been a winner on both occasions but it didn’t happen. The current form gives the Patriots an advantage over struggling St Lucia.
Pitch Report
Brian Lara Stadium will host the match between St Lucia and St Kitts. The track is quite good for batting and it will be the first affair of the day so we might expect a score between 150 and 160. The later the match progresses, the track gets slower and spinners come into the party. The weather is also clear on Saturday, a perfect T20 condition.
