Guyana Amazon Warriors will collide against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the second game of Wednesday ties in the Caribbean Premier League 2020.
Team Preview
Two losing sides face off each other to open their account in the points table. Guyana Amazon Warriors put an imposing total of 144 against Trinbago in 17-overs affair, thanks to Hetmyer’s 63 and Ross Taylor’s 33. Sunil Narine’s 28-balls 50 helped Knight Riders to start a campaign on a high note to secure 4-wickets victory. Guyana needs some fire from openers as both scored a single digit on Tuesday. Guyana's bowlers were also not up to the mark except Imran Tahir and Naveen-Ul-Haq who picked 2 wickets each.
Meanwhile, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots made a disappointing start against Barbados Tridents in a close finish. After getting Trident’s 6 wickets on just 79, Patriots lost the rhythm against the tailenders and Barbados posted 153. In the chase, Joshua scored slow 41 and couldn’t cross the line for the side. Patriots fell short of six runs following a game-changing over from Rashid picking Ramdin and Hamilton on straight deliveries. St Kitts to get over from the middle-over issue and their bowling unit was terrific with getting regular wickets.
Pitch Report
Brian Lara Stadium will host the match between Guyana and St Kitts. Being the second encounter of the day, the surface would trouble batsmen. The later the match progresses, the track gets slower and spinners come into the party. A score above 150 would be a competitive total and chasing is a tricky call on a spinning track. Weather is pretty clear on Wednesday, a perfect T20 condition.
