Somerset hosts Glamorgan in the Central Group fixture of T20 Blast 2020.
Team Preview
Glamorgan and Somerset both are coming off of a defeat on Sunday and both sides would try to add a win here to get back on the winning track. Somerset is missing its prominent last season’s openers Banton and Babar Azam in batting lineup who are involved with their national assignments. Babar might join the squad for the next game. Somerset started their campaign against Northamptonshire after a washed-out opening in Blast. Chasing a target of 172, Somerset failed with the bat and struggled in the middle. Losing 8 wickets on just 112, Van Der Merwe tried to take the game home but fell short of 9 runs.
Meanwhile, Glamorgan had a positive start in Blast with a 15-runs victory against Gloucestershire. After the captain’s half-century, they put 150 on board and the bowlers did the rest of the job with excellent bowling display. In Sunday’s encounter, they suffered a defeat against Warwickshire as they let down with the bat. The captain again took the charge with 72 to take Glamorgan to 140 but bowlers couldn’t defend this small total as they lost the home game by 6-wickets.
Pitch Report
The Cooper Associate Ground, Taunton is a fine batting track and this is the home ground of Somerset. The surface offers a good amount of runs in both innings. Spinners might take help in the middle but overall, it’s a batting-friendly track.
