Sevilla and Manchester United lock horns in the first semifinal of UEFA Europa League 2019-20.
Team Preview
Sevilla are in the quest of record 5th European glory and they made into the top four after the quarter-final victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers courtesy of Lucas Ocampos's 88th-minute strike after failed penalty shot from Raul Jimenez. Los Palanganas improved their performance after the last-16 exit in the previous season. The Spanish Giants are unbeaten from the last 19 games across all competitions and have seven wins from their last eight outings. Unai Emery needs to revive its successive run from 2014 to 2016. Julen Lopetegui’s side secured 4th spot in the 2019-20 La Liga season and already qualified for the Champions League. The title of the Europa league can give Spanish Outfit confidence ahead of the next La Liga season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is just two wins away to take the glory of the Europa League and earn the qualification of the next season’s Champions League. The most recent piece of silverware for United was in 2017 when they defeated Ajax in the final. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is fresh off of a 1-0 victory over Copenhagen in the quarterfinals. The Red Devils have just one defeat from their last 24 matches which came in the FA Cup semifinal last month. The winner of this game will meet either Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk in the final on August 21.
