Saina Nehwal Tests COVID-19 positive, withdraws from Thailand Open

Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal has withdrawn from the Yonex Thailand Open and her opponent, Kisona Selvaduray, has been given a walkover. The Indian shuttler tests COVID-19 positive ahead of her first-round clash in Thailand Open

Thailand Open is all set to begin on Tuesday. Now India’s hopes will rely on PV Sindhu who will face Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark in the first-round clash. It was the first time when Badminton returned in the COVID outbreak and India have strong chances this season.

Here’s the schedule of the first round matches for Indian stars:

– SAI Praneeth vs Kantaphon Wangcharoen (10 AM IST)

– PV Sindhu vs Mia Blichfeldt (10.15 AM IST)

– P Kashyap vs Jason Anthony Ho Shue (11.30 AM IST)
