International Cricket Council announced the winners of the inaugural Player of the Month Awards and for the month of January, India’s Rishabh Pant won the Men’s Player of the Month award and South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail won the Women’s Player of the Month award.
Pant played two fine knocks in Sydney and Gabba Down Under and played an important role to win the historic Test series against Australia. Shabnim Ismail was in top-form in the recently concluded white-ball series against Pakistan. She took seven wickets in the ODI series and scalped five wickets in the second T20I.
