Poonam Would like to bowl for Chennai in Indian T20 League

The women who ruled the hearts of Indians during the T20 Women’s World Cup with her brilliant bowling skills has now expressed her wish of playing for one of the prominent teams of Indian T20 Leagues. The player 28-year-old leg spinner, Poonam Yadav, on Sunday, took to her official Twitter handle and expressed her desire of playing for Chennai.

She wrote, “Given a chance, would love to roll my arm over for @ChennaiIPL,” along with the hashtags #WomensIPL & #AskPY. 

Reacting to the Yadav’s post, the Chennai replied, “Lionesses are the real hunters! Vaa vaa Manjal malarey!”

Organization of women’s T20 League parallel to the Indian T20 league has been in talks off late. This was proposed keeping in mind the popularity difference between men’s & women’s cricket in the nation. While the Indian Women’s team continues to thrive on the international level, winning various matches & creating plenty records, starting a women’s T20 league as the Indian T20 League for men’s will be a huge boost. 

While India ended their T20 Women’s World Cup campaign as the Runners-up, Poonam Yadav, rose to fame for her brilliant performance. She ended her campaign as the joint second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 10 wickets in her kitty.

She has till now featured in 67 T20Is, picking up 95 wickets. She currently occupies the sixth spot in the list of highest-wicket takers.
