Over Allegations of Misbehaving with Bowling Coach, Team Drops Ashok Dinda

Bengal kick-started their Ranji season with an emphatic victory against Kerala; however, the team was given a big blow in the form of dropping Ashok Dinda off the team. The news came on the eve of their game against Andhra Pradesh.

As per the news reports doing the rounds, the player was found to be misbehaving with the bowling coach of the team, Ranadeb Bose. Dinda was found to be abusing Bose when the latter was involved in a verbal discussion with team captain Abhimanyu Easwaran during the team meeting.

CAB officials and the team selectors mutually decided to drop Ashok from the season taking after his indiscipline. The player was given time till evening to apologize for his actions, but the player didn’t and thus, he was axed from the team. He might not be seen in any of the matches of this season.

"We will have to play in a way that we don't feel the need of an extra batsman. We have to be aggressive," stated coach Arun Lal post the training session.

"Arnab and Shahbaz made a huge difference in the match against Kerala. But at Eden Gardens we might look to play four pacers," he further added.

Now that Dinda is out of the scenario, the team shall explore other options to emerge strong in the coming game. Talking about other team news, Manoj Tiwary who had suffered a minor hip strain in the last game is declared fit and would be back to play.
