Nepal’s Kushal Malla becomes youngest to score half-century in International cricket

Nepal’s 15-year-old teenager Kushal Malla on Saturday became the youngest player to score a fifty in international cricket. Malla, who is 15 years and 340 days old, scored 50 runs off 51 balls against the USA as part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2.

Nepal was struggling at 49/5 when Malla came to bat but youngster’s mature innings and a crucial 84 runs stand with Binod Bhandari turned the match in Nepal’s favor.

With the fifty, Malla broke the record of his team-mate Rohit Kumar Paudel, who scored 55 in an ODI against the UAE last year at the age of 16 (and 146 days). India's batting legend Sachin Tendulkar comes third in the list (16 years and 213 days) followed by Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi who was 16 years and 217 days old when he hit an ODI fifty.

Malla’s crucial fifty eventually helped Nepal to register a 35-run victory over the USA.
