Team Preview
Pak T20 League 2021 is in its final stage and after Quetta’s loss last night, it’s clear that one team has been eliminated now. Multan can also join Quetta if they fail to retain their consistency in the second half. Multan have just 4 points in the pocket and they are keen to take the spot in the top four.
In the previous game, Multan overcame the defending champions in a quality game of cricket. Babar Azam stood for Karachi but poor strike rate in the first phase of the chase helped Multan to clinch two points. Maqsood looked better and later, Rossouw and Khushdil did a good job to get 176 on board. Multan bowlers kept Karachi’s batting unit silent and in the 12th over, Karachi hit the run-rate of 6 which made them out of the contest. With this win, Multan is still in contention but they cannot afford a defeat here. With four more games to go, they can reach a maximum of 12 points so each game is important. If Peshawar wins here, they will also reach 10 points and then, Multan will suffer a lot.
Meanwhile, Peshawar is highly boosted after breaking their two-match losing streak and they thrashed Quetta by 66 runs in last night’s encounter to take the third spot in the table. If they win, they can reach the second spot in the table. In the previous game, they were called to bat and they lost two early wickets but Kamran Akmal and David Miller put a century stand to get 197 on board. Bowling were also exceptional and Quetta scored 136 in 20 overs. Mohammed Irfan bagged three and Wahab Riaz- Umaid Asif picked two wickets each to demolish Quetta’s batting lineup. It’s a great opportunity for Peshawar to clinch two more points. They have just three games left and defeat here can hurt their campaign.
Pitch Report
Abu Dhabi’s track is good to bat but you need to bat sensibly and look for boundaries. Spinners will have an advantage but powerplay’s game will be important. 160-170 would be a competitive total on this surface.
