In the recent times, the Afghan right arm off break spinner, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, has emerged as one of the most sought-after spinners. Representing Cumilla Warriors in the Bangladesh T20 League, he cleaned up Liton Das to break the opening stand, which was his 100th wicket in T20 format. Despite having figures of 4-1-17-1, the Warriors were smashed by the Rajshahi Royals. With this feat, Mujeeb broke Rashid Khan’s 100 T20 wickets record.
The moment he achieved this milestone, he was 18 years and 271 days old. Therefore, he turned out to be the youngest player to take 100 wickets in the T20 cricket, breaking Rashid Khan’s feat (when he was 18 years and 360 days).
In 2017, he made his debut for Afghanistan from ODIs and established himself as one of the strongest players for the national squad in the limited-overs format with an enviable ability to take wickets.
As he has been giving consistently praise-worthy performance, he is roped in by Middlesex for the upcoming T20 Blast tournament. Moreover, Mujeeb is also ranked 3rd in the ODIs and 2nd in T20Is in the latest ICC rankings.

Lately, he has a struggling a little with the ball in the shorter formats. Playing for Punjab, he claimed 16 wickets and conceded runs at less than 7 runs as an over in the 2018 season of Indian T20 League. But he failed to impress in its 12th edition (2019) as he lost control of the ball and picked fewer wickets and had an economy of 10.05 runs.
