Indian Head Coach Ravi Shastri on Thursday stated that the 38-year-old MS Dhoni may not be seen wearing ODI jersey. As quoted by prime media house, Shastri while commenting on MS’s chances of playing said, “We had a conversation but that’s between me and MS, that’s in the dressing room. What I feel is that people must respect is he’s played non-stop in all formats of the game for a while. He’s finished playing Test match, and in all probability, he’ll finish one-day cricket.”
Dhoni, who hasn't been in the scheme of things after the disappointing defeat against New Zealand in World Cup semi-final is set to return to cricket arena in the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). MS Dhoni along with his teammates will look to turn things around and cross the final battle in the year 2020. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) which has been one of the successful IPL side will see many players stepping onto cricketing field for one last time. The likes of Shane Watson, MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir, and Dwayne Bravo's chances to continue to 2021 look slim from a distance.
However, Shastri also added that his fitness levels along with a good IPL season could easily earn him a spot in the side for the T20 World Cup.
