Match Timings: Dec 11, 7:30 PM IST
Team Preview
Mohun B. will take on Hyderabad to get back to its winning momentum after a defeat last week. It was the first defeat for Antonio Habas' men this season after adding three successive victories, including the clean sheet in all. Jamshedpur made a good start by winning some early corners. Ricky Lallawmawma earned the yellow card in the 12th minute The attack was the strongest part of Jamshedpur, and they dominated the Mariners. In the 30th minute, Nerijus Valskis got his name on the scoresheet through a header.
In the 66th minute, Valskis scored his 5th goal of the season to make the lead double. The clock was putting pressure on Antonio Habas, and after the drinks in the second half, Roy Krishna opened the scoring for the Mariners but still, the equaliser was missing in the next 15 minutes. They couldn’t break TP Rehenesh’s steady approach. Both sides had 15 shots on target, nine made for Jamshedpur, and six for Mohun B. Habas’ men didn’t concede a single goal in its first three matches but conceded a brace in the previous game. Antonio would try to improve errors, and he would give more authority to other players to strike. The reliability on Roy Krishna can provide the surprise as Hyderabad had defeated strong Mumbai in its opening game.
Meanwhile, the Nizams had played two consecutive draws and avoided a defeat so far. With five points from the first three matches, Hyderabad sits in the middle of the table. In a previous encounter, they played a 1-1 draw with the Red Miners. The first half ended with no scoring despite the efforts from both ends. Hyderabad opened the scoresheet with the early strike from Aridane Santana. Jamshedpur found the equaliser in the 85th minute through Stephen Eze’s strike through a good pass from Lalnunfela.
Hyderabad improved this season if we compare it to its previous season’s performance. They look like a rejuvenated side under Manolo Marquez. They have missed Joel Chianese and Spanish midfielder Lluis Sastre, and after the inclusion of these two players, Nizams will be stronger. Liston Colaco, Halicharan Narzary, and Mohammed Yasir gave a tough time to the opponent’s defense.
