Match Report: Rajasthan vs Delhi, Indian T20 League 2021

Toss: Rajasthan opted to field first

Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

Detailed Match Report

First Innings (Delhi 147/8)

Rajasthan brought David Miller in place of Ben Stokes and replaced Shreyas Gopal with Unadkat, while Delhi replaced Hetmyer with Rabada and handed the debut cap to Lalit Yadav. Rajasthan put a fabulous show with the bowl and picked both openers early. Unadkat was really impressive with the new ball. After picking Dhawan and Shaw, he also got Rahane with a fine catch. He conceded just 15 runs in 4-overs of spell and bagged three wickets.

Pant took the charge but Delhi was losing wickets on another end. He added 51 runs with debutant Lalit Yadav and scored a fine half-century before getting run-out. Delhi scored 20 off the final 10 balls to get 147 on board which was a below-par score on this track.

Second Innings (Rajasthan 150/7)

Rajasthan’s chase started on a poor note and they lost both openers early as Woakes picked both. In the first 4 overs, Delhi picked Buttler, Vohra, and Samson. Avesh Khan added more damage to Rajasthan’s chase by picking two wickets in successive overs. David Miller fought hard for Rajasthan and the run-rate crossed 11 runs per over.

After scoring 15 off Stoinis’ over, Rajasthan came back into the game. Rabada broke the 48-run stand between Miller and Tewatia as he picked Tewatia on 19. Miller was the lone warrior and he completed his 10th half-century in Indian T20 League. Miller got out on 62 in search of a third consecutive six against Avesh Khan and all hopes of Rajasthan died with this wicket. Chris Morris added the twist in the game. Rajasthan required 12 off Tom Curran’s last over and Morris finished it with ease by smashing two sixes.
