Detailed Match Report

Under the new skipper, Kolkata started their innings and Suryakumar Yadav sent Tripathi to pavilion after picking a stunner at backward point. Kolkata couldn't recover and lost Rana too. Morgan promoted Karthik at number 4 and in one over, Rahul Chahar got Gill & Karthik on successive deliveries to put them in deep trouble. Russell was the final hope and Bumrah tried a bouncer to give another blow to Kolkata. After a poor batting show, Cummins joined Morgan to take Kolkata towards a safe total. He maintained the run-rate with hitting regular boundaries and Morgan played a sheet anchor. Cummins scored his maiden T20 half-century with a cracking four in final over. With 87 runs stand for the 6th wicket, Kolkata got 148 on board.  In last 2 overs, they got 35 runs with 3 sixes and 3 fours.

Kolkata started with Chris Green and pace from the other end but it didn’t work out. De Cock and Rohit Sharma made Mumbai's chase like a cakewalk with getting easy boundaries. The duo added runs for the opening wicket before Mavi got Rohit on 35. The required run rate was below 6 and the job was pretty easy for Mumbai. De Cock continued his top run with yet another half-century. Chakravarthy got Suryakumar Yadav in 14th over but it was a delayed effort. Mumbai avoided a collapse to chase down the target.
