Detailed Match Report 

First Innings (SL 275/9) 

Sri Lanka made another good start from openers and the duo added 77 runs before Chahal struck twice in 14th over. Avishka Fernando scored a gritty half-century but threw his wicket. De Silva got a good start but he didn’t convert it into big. Asalanka managed to get his maiden ODI half-century. He scored a crucial 65 in middle-overs when Sri Lanka were struggling. 

The hosts lost 6 wickets on 194 and then 50 runs partnership for the 7th wicket added some positives for Sri Lanka. Karunaratne scored 44 off 33 balls, in the end, to touch the mark of 275 for Sri Lanka in the first innings. Hosts scored 73 runs in the last 10 overs. Chahal and Bhuvneshwar picked three wickets each. Deepak Chahar scalped two wickets. 

Second Innings (IND 277/7) 

Indian openers started in a dominating way but Hasaranga avoided a damage with dismissing Shaw on 11 and later, Ishan Kishan also got out on 1. India scored 60 in the powerplay and lost two wickets. Dhawan also got out and Suryakumar Yadav tried to revive India with Manish Pandey. Shanaka added a boost in Lankan camp with two wickets. First Pandey got run out and then, Pandya lost his wicket on duck. 

Krunal and SKY did a good job by showing some resilience but Suryakumar got out after scoring a fine half-century. Krunal fought hard for India but Hasaranga removed him on 35 with a fine delivery. Deepak Chahar stood tall against Lanka’s bowling attack and scored a fine half-century. He added 84 runs for the 8th wicket to seal the game for India.

Deepak Chahar is our star performer of the match. He picked two wickets in first innings and then, scored his maiden half-century in a crunch chase. His knock helped India to win a match in a tough situation.
