The defending champions Mumbai continued their dominance in Indian T20 League with another convincing win over Delhi. It’s a 4th straight defeat for Delhi and their playoffs qualification might be difficult due to poor NRR.
Toss: Mumbai opted to bowl first
Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai
Detailed Match Report
Delhi’s top-order trauma continued as they lost their openers in the first 3-overs. Iyer and Pant tried to release the pressure but Chahar scalped Iyer on 24 to leave Delhi on 50/3. The middle-order failed one more time as Mumrah struck twice in the 12th over to shatter Delhi’s batting unit. Delhi didn’t show any positive sign in flag-overs and the regular wickets put them in deep trouble. Mumbai restricted them on a mere total of 110. Bumrah and Boult both picked 3-wickets each.
On a challenging surface, Mumbai started the chase with pure steadiness. Iyer introduced spin in the very first over but Mumbai avoided any mistake. De Cock and Ishan Kishan guided the chase in an effective manner. Nortje delivered a breakthrough with De Cock's wicket but Ishan Kishan guided Mumbai home along with Suryakumar Yadav. Kishan scored an unbeaten 72 off just 47 balls.
