First Innings (Bangalore 171/5)
Bangalore handed the debut to Daniel Sams and Delhi included Ishant for the first time. Avesh Khan picked the big wicket of Kohli to give the first blow to Bangalore. On the next ball, Ishant picked Padikkal with a cracking delivery. Maxwell and Patidar tried to revive Bangalore and Mishra struck in 9th over to leave Bangalore struggling at 60/3. ABD joined Patidar and Bangalore picked the momentum. Patidar looked better but he couldn’t make his start into big as Axar bagged him on 31. Rabada got Sundar on 6 and Bangalore missed out the rhythm in death-overs but ABD fought hard with scoring his 40th half-century. South African star completed his 5000 runs in Indian T20 League. In the final over of Stoinis, ABD smashed three sixes to take 23 runs and Bangalore posted a competitive total of 171. ABD remained not out on 75 off 42 balls.
Second Innings (Delhi 170/4)
Delhi got a quick start but Dhawan couldn’t accelerate on Jamieson’s bouncer and Chahal picked a good catch to add the first blow to Delhi. Siraj picked Smith on just 4 to put more pressure on Delhi. Shaw completed his 1000 runs in Indian T20 League, the second-youngest player to achieve this but he couldn't add more runs as purple-cap holder Harshal picked him on 21. Stoinis and Pant constructed the chase but Harshal added one more wicket by dismissing Stoinis. Require-run-rate hit 11 runs per over and Hetmyer added some fire with Pant. Delhi required 46 off last three and Hetmyer smashed three sixes in Jamieson’s 18th over to keep the equation 25 off 12 balls. Hetmyer completed his maiden half-century in Delhi outfit off 23 balls. In the final over, Delhi required 14 against Siraj and Siraj bowled pin-point yorkers to defend it. Despite two boundaries off the final two balls, Bangalore won it by just one run to take the top spot back.
