Delhi breaks their losing jinx to hand-over Bangalore 4th consecutive loss in Indian T20 League. Delhi now has qualified for the playoffs, and with taking the 2nd spot, they will face Mumbai in the first qualifier on November 06. Bangalore has also qualified for the playoffs after allowing Delhi to chase the total in more than 17.3 overs.

Detailed Match Report 

Delhi made a good decision as Rabada struck in the 5th over to pick Philippe on 12. Kohli joined in-form Padikkal, and the duo put a steady stand for Bangalore. Iyer tried spin from both ends to control runs, and Ashwin picked Kohli on 29 to give Bangalore a second blow. Ashwin completed his spell with 18 runs in 4-overs, picking one wicket. Padikkal continued his top form and completed his yet another half-century. Nortje grabbed on the next ball, and in the same over, he also picked Chris Morris to shatter Bangalore’s innings. ABD tried to accelerate the inning with 21-balls 35, but Delhi restricted Bangalore to 152 on a batting track. In the last 5 overs, Bangalore lost 5 wickets, and they failed to put any remark in death-overs. 

Delhi’s chase started with Shaw’s yet another failure as Siraj bowled him in his first over. After the early blow, Dhawan and Rahane both carried Delhi’s inning with ease. Both batsmen scored a half-century. Shabaz Ahmed broke the stand after picking Dhawan on 54, but it was a delayed effort. Iyer also went cheaply on 7, and Sundar picked Rahane on 60, but it didn’t stop Delhi to win this match. Stoinis and Pant both took Delhi to the finish line. Delhi claimed the 2nd spot with this win, and Bangalore has also qualified with a better run-rate compared to Kolkata.

Ajinkya Rahane is our star performer of the match. The right-hand batsman controlled the game and put a match-defining stand with Dhawan. He used his batting skills to guide Delhi home. He scored fine 60 off 46 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six.
