First Innings (Chennai 188/9)
Chennai walked on to the field with an unchanged XI. Ruturaj and du Plessis opened for the team. However, it wasn't long before Mastafizur picked Ruturaj's wicket in the 4th over & soon followed him Faf du Plessis in the 6th over. The top-order of the team altogether managed to accumulate a total of 125 runs at the end of 14 overs. Du Plessis recorded the most runs for the team with a score of 33 off 17 balls.
Others who performed decently with the bat included Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu & Dwayne Bravo who scored a 20 ball 26, 27 off 17 balls & 20* off 8 respectively. The other members of the team failed to make it past 20 runs. A last-ball six from Dwayne Bravo helped the team finish with a total of 188 runs on board.

Rajasthan started their game by opting to field first & its bowlers did a tremendous job. Chetan Sakariya & the season's most expensive buy, Chris Morris were the most effective. Sakariya bagged 3 wickets while Morris picked 2. The previous match's star performer, Jayadev Unadkat proved very expensive with an economy of 40.00.
In terms of batting, Jos Buttler & Vohra opened for Rajasthan & made a quite strong start. Meanwhile, Vohra had to wrap his inning on a mere score of 14 runs after being picked by Sam Curran in the 4th over, Jos Buttler played an exceptionally well knock of 49 runs, providing stability to the team. Rajasthan lost quick wickets that led to the collapse of the team and ultimately in the loss of game for Rajasthan.
