The one-man show from Jadeja with a cracking half-century followed by a 3-wicket haul helped Chennai to defeat Bangalore by 69 runs and Yellow Army also retained the top spot in the points table.

Detailed Match Report 

First Innings (Chennai 191/4) 

Considering the spin in the second half, Dhnoi included Imran Tahir and Kohli recalled Daniel Christian. Chennai made a good start as Gaikwad and Plessis added 74 runs for the opening wicket before Chahal struck in the 10th over. In middle-overs, Chennai looked for acceleration and lost two quick wickets of Plessis and Raina. Plessis scored his second half-century of the season. Harshal Patel bagged three as he also got Rayudu. Chennai were looking to get 170-175 but Jadeja delivered a carnage in Harshal Patel’s final over with smashing 5 sixes and one four. Patel conceded 37 runs, joint-most runs in a single over of the Indian T20 League. Christian dropped Jadeja's catch on 0 and in the end, Jadeja scored 62 off 28 balls. Harshal Patel conceded only 14 in his first 3 overs with picking 3 wickets but his final over made a turnaround in Chennai’s innings. 

Second Innings (Bangalore 122/9) 

Bangalore lost their skipper early as Sam Curran picked Kohli on 8. Padikkal looked solid and he fired in the powerplay with 34 off just 15 balls. Thakur provided the breakthrough with his wicket and since then, Bangalore’s batting order collapsed. Jadeja got Sundar, Maxwell, and ABD, following a direct hit run-out to dismiss Daniel Christian. Jadeja ended the figure with three for 14 and later, Tahir joined the party with two wickets in his spell for 16. Bangalore were thrashed by Chennai and they suffered a huge defeat of 69 runs. It helped Chennai to retain its top spot with better NRR.

Ravindra Jadeja is our star performer of the match. The Chennai all-rounder changed the game with a firing knock of 62 off just 28 balls. He scored 37 off the final over of the innings and helped Chennai to post 191. With the bowl, he picked three wickets and involved in one direct-hit runout.
