Manchester United is not stopping their transfer bids despite the financial issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The English Club is planning to bid £49 million for forward-player Federico Chiesa who is playing for Fiorentina in Series A. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks interested to sign Fedrico for the upcoming Champions League season.
Ahead of the Europa League clash with LASK, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the transfer market for a winger and a striker. The Red Devils are already in the intense talk with Borussia Dortmund to get Jadon Sancho and the deal is yet to be cracked. Federico Chiesa netted 10 goals in Serie A this season for Fiorentina. The Italy-international has appeared in four seasons for his club and scored more than 10 goals for the second consecutive season.
The move to Old Trafford will be the second top deal for United ahead of the new Premier League season. Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso also clarified in an interview that the club will not stop the 22-years-old player to leave Fiorentina. He stated, "I kept him last summer, now I hope that he remains, but if he wants to leave, then he can do so as long as he brings in the right money for his true value."
If the Red Devils crack the deal for Sancho which is most likely to happen this week then the United would make a final call on the last transfer bid of the summer, by picking either Daniel James or Tahith Chong who are also in waiting to move Old Trafford.
After losing the Champions League spot last year, United defeated Leicester City in the final league game to secure the Champions League qualification for the next season. The English Club will kick start their Europa League quest at Old Trafford against LASK on Wednesday.
