Team Preview

West Ham will make travel to Old Trafford for the important Premier League clash with Man United. It will be the third meeting between two sides in last one month as they also met each other in FA Cup when Man United knocked out the West Ham side. Ole’s side got the rhythm in Premier League but they are still far away from the title glory. They have recently played to Milan in Europa League’s first leg round-of-16 tie. Amad Diallo scored his maiden goal for Red Devils but Simon Kjaer’s injury-time goal spoiled the party. United can back themselves for this game after defeating the league-leaders and arch-rivals Man City 2-0.

Man United broke the long 24-matches streak of Man City. Ole’s side is still 11-points behind to City and they have to expect big turnaround to win the trophy after 2013. United’s downfall in January-February and the rise of City in 2021 cleared the debate over Premier League title. Before the much-needed victory over City, Red Devils dropped points against Chelsea and Crystal Palance by involving in goalless draws. Their draws against West Brom and Everton were silly games that could have been in favour of United.

Man United are unbeaten from the last 12 matches across all competition and they have lost just one game in the last 22 Premier League matches. They played some unexpected draw games which hurt their position from the top. Man City went for a win and United kept dropping points. With 10 more games to go and 11 points of difference with Man City summaries the disappointing story. After 2013, they can say, it’s the best season for United. They can make a league double over West Ham since 2013-14. Man United have scored 15 goals in their last three home games, nine came against Southampton.

Meanwhile, West Ham are going strong after some stopping points. They stand at fifth and still, they are the top contender to grab the qualification for the Champions League. They are coming off a 2-0 win over Leeds after suffering a defeat to City. They lost just one game out of the previous five and they’re winless in their last 12 away games against Man United. Their last victory at Old Trafford came in the 2006-07 campaign. They might become the fourth London team to win at Old Trafford after Spurs, Arsenal, and Palace. West Ham are just two points behind Chelsea with one game in hand and with taking three points at Old Trafford can see themselves just three points behind United. West Ham is looking to finish in the top four this season which would be a great picture for them.
