Los Angeles Lakers would enter in the 5th game of Finals series to wrap up the series after taking 3-1 lead. In the first game, Lakers defeated Miami 116-98 to draw the first blood in the series and they also took the second game 124-114. Miami made a comeback by taking the third game to avoid 3-0 deficit. On Wednesday, Lakers outplayed Heat for one more time to step closer to the tournament title. After two competitive quarters, Lakers led by only 2 points at half-game. Going into the final quarter, Miami required to pull off 5 points to square the series but Lakers took this quarter 26-27. 

Anthony Davies paced Lakers with 22 points plus 9 boards. LeBron James played for 39 minutes and netted a double-double with 28 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. For Miami, Jimmy Butler scored 22 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists while Tyler Herro chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. 

Lakers shot 44.3 per cent from the floor, including 14 out of 39 from three-point range, while, Miami shot 42.7 % from the floor, including 11 out of 32 from beyond the arc. Lakers dominated the offensive rebounds with 39-42. Lakers stands first in the postseason in field goals with shooting 49% per contest and in defence, they stand third as they allow 106.4 points per contest. Heat would lose the offensive rebounds battle but Jimmy Butler can take them to avoid 5-game defeat on Friday.
