Team Preview

Jurgen Klopp's side is back at Anfield to host the season-leaders with an ample of injury concerns. Virgil van Dijk is already out of the season for a longer period. Gomez, Jordan Henderson, Andrew Robertson, and Mohamed Salah are also out of the contention. The Reds somehow managed to stop City at Etihad. Bruyne missed the penalty in the first half, and it went costly to City as the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Before this game, the Reds won five straight games, but the current scenario put questions in Klopp’s mind.

The home record is the big positive sign for Liverpool. The hosts are unbeaten in 63 home league games, and one more game will help them create a new record. In their last three home-games, Liverpool conceded the first goal but went on to win the match. The defense might be a weak part as the Reds kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 Premier League outings. They have conceded 16 goals this season, only Leeds United and West Brom have conceded more this season. 11 goals came in the first half, so Kloop needs to focus on this part.

Meanwhile, Leicester City had a prominent start to the 2019-20 season, and after three straight wins, they moved to the top spot. The Foxes notched up 18 points from eight games, and they are entering into Anfield with a 6-matches winning streak across all competitions, and four of those victories have come away from home. They outclassed Man City, Leeds United, and Arsenal in away fixtures, so Rodgers can aim for a fifth successive victory on Sunday night. At Anfield, they have been winless in their last nine league games.

Leicester had a good start in European competitions by winning all three games in Europa League, having scored nine goals and conceding only one. Liverpool also won their all first-leg games by keeping a clean-sheet. Diogo Zata scored four goals in Champions League, including a hattrick against Atalanta.
