Team Preview

Jamshedpur’s campaign under Coyelo is not so good after achieving just one point from the first two matches. They can think about the previous match when Odisha managed to spoil the party after dominating the first half. Nerijus Valskis started the scoring with the early strike, and later, he doubled it in the 27th minute. Nerijus Valskis is now the top-scorer of this season with three goals. In the second half, Odisha pulled off a comeback riding on Diego Mauricio. The Brazilian forward scored the first goal in the 77th minute, assisted by Jacob Tratt. In injury time, Diego scored the finest goal of the season to held Jamshedpur for a 2-2 draw. In the opening fixture, Coyelo’s men lost to Chennai 2-1, and Valskis scored the only goal.

The Red Miners have to learn from its mistakes as they stand at second from the bottom in the table. TP Rehenesh would be out of this fixture after receiving the red card in the second half of the previous encounter. Due to his absence, Jamshedpur was reduced to 10-men, and Odisha made full use to break its defense. Pawan Kumar will replace Rehenesh in Wednesday’s fixture.

Under Manolo Marquez, Hyderabad earned four points from two matches as they won its first match against Odisha after Santana’s late winner. In match week two, the Nizams played the first goalless draw of the 2020-21 season against Bengaluru. The first half was pretty competitive as Hyderabad made few opportunities but failed to convert those. In the second half, it was a similar story, but Bengaluru created more passes. The injury concern in its dugout can hurt Hyderabad as Joel Chianese, and Lluis Sastre hobbled off with injuries in the previous encounter. Fran Sandaza can start for the Nizams, but his availability is also in doubt.

Both sides met twice last season, and Jamshedpur had the first laugh with a 3-1 victory at Tata Sports Complex. In the second-leg game, Hyderabad held the Red Miners for a 1-1 draw at home.
