Jamaica Tallawahs vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Caribbean Premier League, Match Prediction

Jamaica Tallawahs and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots face off each other in the must-win game in Caribbean Premier League 2020

Match Timing: September 03, 2020 (7:30 PM IST)

Team Preview

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots take on Jamaica Tallawahs to add some twist in the campaign ahead of the semifinals. The patriots had a disappointing story so far. They lost their first fixture in a dramatic way but later, they showed very dull intent to go ahead in the table. In the previous encounter, they lost against Trinbago who rested their major players like Narine, Pollard, and Fawad last night but the Patriots suffered a 59-runs defeat. Chasing the target of 175, St Kitts was restricted on just 115. Lynn showed some steadiness for the first time but he took 46 balls to score 34. The middle-order scored in single digits to provide this side to a 7th loss in the league. To make it into the SF, the Patriots need a miracle as they win their remaining two matches with good margin and expect their rivals Jamaica and Barbados to finish with 6 points.

Meanwhile, Jamaica also suffered a defeat against Trinbago in the previous encounter but they are still in the race for the semifinal-birth. In the chase of 185, Jamaica showed positive intent as Phillips scored 41 and Russell scored 23-balls 50 but the run-rate pressure made them short of 19 runs. Tallawahs are placed on 4th and they need one more win to step closer to the top four. Their only rivals are Barbados who need two wins to finish with 8 points and Jamaica requires at least two wins from the last remaining three matches. A big margin victory is still enough to cross Trident on better NRR. Jamaica can even qualify with losing all matches if Tridents and Patriots lose at least one more game this week. For Jamaica, Mujeeb might miss the game due to the domestic T20 tournament in Afghanistan.

Pitch Report

Brian Lara Stadium is a fine batting track when it comes to the first day. On both days, Trinbago scored 170 plus score in the first game of the day. Pacers have slight help from the pitch and spinners can control runs in the 2nd innings. Batting first would be an ideal call. A scored around 150-160 is safe.
