IPL 2019 Sunday Double Header: Bairstow, Warner and Dhoni steal the Sunday show

In the first match played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal challengers Bangalore at Rajiv Gandhi international stadium in Hyderabad, RCB captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl first. But Sunrisers Hyderabad openers, Johny Bairstow and David Warner, with their outstanding opening stand of 185 runs proved Virat Kohli’s decision wrong. 

Due to their exceptional innings of 114 runs and 100 runs, Hyderabad posed a huge total of 231 on the board. Although it was looking a tough chase, but due to RCB’s batting line up which have Virat Kohli, AB Devilliers, Shemron Hetmyer etc, everyone was expecting a good match period.However, due to SRH ‘s brilliant bowling and fielding performance RCB managed to score only 113 runs. Johny bairstow was named man of the match for his 114 runs knock. Sunrisers Hyderabad placed themselves at the top of points table after this huge win, whereas RCB went to the last position in the table, losing all the three matches they ‘ve played.

In the second match played between Chennai Super kings and Rajasthan Royal at M.A. Chidambaram stadium in Chennai, Rajasthan Royal’s captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bowl first. His bowlers supported his decision and went on take three quick wickets at a score of 27. But due to a brilliant partnership of 61 (runs) between Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni, and a 57 run partnership between Bravo and MS Dhoni, Chennai managed to get a competitive total of 175 runs. 

In response to this total, Rajasthan lost three quick wickets at the score of 14 only which decreased their chances of achieving the target. The innings played by Rahul Tripathi and Ben Stokes gave some hope to Rajasthan to win the match, but Ben Stokes dismissal in the first ball of last over vanished the Rajasthan’s hope to register their first win in IPL 12. With three consecutive wins Chennai again pushed up to the top of the table. MS Dhoni was named as the man of the match for scoring 75 runs in just 46 balls.
