Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against West Indies. Dhawan suffered a deep cut on his left knee during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game against Maharashtra in Surat. The incident occurred when the batsman attempted a full-stretch dive while batting, and a piece of wood from his pad pierced his knee. The batsman later received over 20 stitches.
The BCCI Selection Committee has named Sanju Samson as Dhawan’s replacement for the T20I series.
After getting selected in the T20I series against Bangladesh, Samson was initially left out for the West Indies T20I series.
