The 2nd match of the Indian T20 League 2020, witnessed the first-ever super-over of the season. In a table-turning match, Delhi beat Punjab to claim the Super Over and eventually the match. The game started off with Punjab winning the toss and putting Delhi to bat first who went on to put up a total of 157 runs on the board. The nail-biting encounter was full of surprises, twists and turns.
Both the teams started off slow, picking up pace in the middle overs of the match. In a match that looked to be on Delhi's side during the initial 10 overs of Punjab's inning, witnessed a 180-degree turn with Mayank Agarwal's heroics. Riding on the shoulders of Mayank Agarwal, Punjab managed to draw the game, but Agarwal's wicket at 5th ball of 19th over and Jordan's wicket at the last ball led it to a Super over.
The Super over was equally enticing with Punjab coming to bat first putting forth a target of 3 runs at a loss of 2 wickets. For Delhi, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant walked the field, claiming the Super over victory.
