Indian T20 League Auction 2020: Did you know?

India awaits the most happening event of sports down the year, Indian T20 League Auction 2020 on 19th December in Kolkata. The day will reveal the final squads of all the teams and help the franchises to overcome the shortcomings for the league tournament.

The centre of attraction of this auction still remains Hugh Edmeades who is an International Auctioneer and will host the Indian T20 League Auction repeatedly for the second time. Hugh replaced Richard Madeley in the last season, who conducted the event for 11 continuous years.

Almost every season, some bids amaze as well as disappoint the fans with their astonishing figures and the same is expected this year.

Here are some interesting facts about the auction.

1. Oldest cricketer in the auction list

The senior-most cricketer to feature this auction is the leg spinner from Mumbai, Pravin Tambe. He was born in 1971 and is the oldest player to play in Indian T20 League. Tambe made his debut in 2013 at the age of 41 and he last played for Rajasthan Royals against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016.

Cricket is a sport that gives opportunities to all age groups and if Pravin Tambe gets picked by any team then he will mark history to play cricket league at the age of 48.

2. Youngest cricketer in the auction list

Noor Ahmed is all set to leave footprints on the Indian soil. The 2005 born Afghan cricketer is the youngest cricketer in the bidding list. He is a left-arm bowler and if picked by any one of the eight franchises then will own records that are near to unbreakable. Noor made his debut in April this year in youth ODI matches.

If he is selected for any of the teams than he will be the one to break the record of Prayas Ray Barman (16) and will become the youngest player to play in the Indian T20 League.

3. Players under the hammer

A total of 332 players will go under the hammer in Indian T20 League Auction and out of them, 186 are Indian players. The list has just 73 available spots and 29 needs to be filled with oversea players.
