Indian Squad for West Indies: Bhuvneshwar back; Samson Dropped

BCCI on Thursday announced the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 and ODI series against West Indies starting next month. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who suffered a hamstring injury in August returned to the squad. All-rounder Shivam Dube got a maiden ODI call-up after making his T20I debut in the recently concluded series against Bangladesh. 

Sanju Samson, who was included in the last series, has been dropped without playing a match. Krunal Pandya who didn’t have a good outing in the previous series has also been dropped, and the in-form Ravindra Jadeja is included in his place. Left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav is also back with his partner in crime Yuzvendra Chahal. Seamer Deepak Chahar, who recently had a brilliant T20I series against Bangladesh is recalled in the ODI squad.

India is scheduled to play three T20Is and ODIs against West Indies starting from December 6.

T20I squad: Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma (VC), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (WK), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

ODI squad: Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma (VC), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Risbhabh Pant (WK), Shivam Dube, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
