The second match of the 3-match ODI series between India and South Africa will be played on Friday, January 21. The match will take place at Boland Park in Paarl. South Africa have taken a 1-0 lead in the series by defeating Team India in the first ODI. Team India would want to win the second ODI and level the series while South Africa will look to win the second ODI and clinch the series.
Team India's bowlers could not do well against the African batsmen in the first match and South Africa set a target of 297 runs for India. The bowlers could not break the partnership between Bavuma and Dussen. The team's bowlers are expected not to repeat their mistakes in this match. Bumrah will again take charge of the fast bowling attack in the second ODI. Bhuvneshwar and Shardul Thakur did not get any wickets, also, spinners Ashwin and Chahal also performed dull. The Indian middle order faltered in the first match and that was the main reason for the team's defeat. After KL Rahul's dismissal, Shikhar Dhawan and Kohli shared a good partnership and both the batsmen also scored half-centuries. But after Kohli and Dhawan's dismissal, the Indian innings came to a full stop and Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer along with Venkatesh Iyer, playing his first ODI, could not do well.
On the other hand, South Africa's winning campaign after the Test series continued in ODIs. In the first innings, Africa scored 296 runs with the help of excellent centuries from Bavuma and van der Dussen. After falling three wickets for 68 runs, the South African batsmen did not give the Indian bowlers a chance to return and Bavuma and Dussen shared a 204-run stand. South Africa are getting full advantage of their home conditions and the African batsmen is in amazing form.
