India clinch another super over victory, take 4-0 lead in series

Scores tied, Super Over, New Zealand lost. Where have we heard this before!! New Zealand suffered yet another super over heartbreak as India clinched another thrilling super over victory to take an unassailable 4-0 lead in the five-match series. Colin Munro and Tim Seifert’s half-centuries took the Blackcaps close but 4 wickets in the last over saw them surrendering once again.

It was Shami in the previous game who defended 9 and this time it was Shardul Thakur who defended 7 in the final over to take the game into the super over. Jasprit Bumrah again bowled the super over and restricted New Zealand to 13 runs which India chased down quite comfortably in the end.

Earlier in the evening, a fighting unbeaten knock of 50 from Manish Pandey helped India to post a challenging total of 165 on a swinging pitch. After being put in, India was off to a jittery start. KL Rahul took the role of aggressor but kept losing partners on the other hand. After Rahul's departure, India was reeling at 88/6 but Manish Pandey's superb knock of 50 along with handy cameos from the lower order took India past 160.
