The No. 1 T20 side in the world face the No. 2 T20 side in what looks to be a promising T20 thriller. Men in Blue are currently the most in-form T20 squad, winning 4 of their 5 matches in the World T20 Cup. England suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Ireland but won 3 of the next 4 matches in the tournament. India won the inaugural championship in 2007 whereas England added this trophy to their cabinet in 2010. The two teams are set to battle it out in Adelaide to move a step closer to the final & reclaim the trophy. Here are the fantasy cricket tips, playing XI & pitch report for the India vs England match.
Date & Time
India and England will face each other in the 2nd semi-final on 10th November at 1:30 PM IST, 08:00 AM GMT / 07:00 PM LOCAL.
Venue & Pitch Report
Adelaide Oval will host the much awaited 2nd semi-final of the 2022 World T20 Cup. The only oval stadium in Australia, it is one of the highest scoring grounds as it has short square boundaries and long straight boundaries.
The Adelaide stadium can seat around 32,000 spectators and accommodate 53,000 standing spectators. The ground has a field size of 190m long and 126m wide.
The Adelaide pitch is an excellent batting track and produced most of the highest scoring fixtures of this World T20 Cup. Both India and England possess strong batting lineups and would be looking to bat first on winning the toss.
Players To Watch Out For
With most wins in this World T20 Cup, it is hard to single out players from the Indian squad. Indian batsmen have smashed most half-centuries (9) in this tournament while bowlers have consistently played their part as well. England have had some good individual performances in their camp as well. Let’s have a look at key players in the upcoming semi-final.
S Yadav: England need to be cautious when the no.1 ranked T20 batsman in the world steps onto the pitch. With 225 runs in 5 innings, S Yadav is the third highest run-scorer in the tournament. The unorthodox shot-maker from Mumbai is the glue that holds the Indian batting lineup together and has the ability to score runs quickly even under pressure.
J Buttler: The English skipper has scored 119 runs in 4 innings including a brilliant 73-run knock against New Zealand. Buttler is yet to get into his final gear and the semi-final against India would be the perfect opportunity to do so. He is well aware about the strengths and weaknesses of Indian bowlers as he plays regularly in the Indian T20 League.
England could name an unchanged lineup from their previous match but same can’t be said about India. Skipper R. Sharma and star batsman V. Kohli suffered minor setbacks in nets but are expected to play their part in the semis.
Here’s the probable XI for the 2nd semi-final:
India: KL Rahul, R Sharma (c), V Kohli, S Yadav, H Pandya, R Pant (wk), A Patel, R Ashwin, B Kumar, M Shami, A Singh
England: J Buttler (c & wk), A Hales, B Stokes, D Malan, H Brooks, L Livingstone, M Ali, S Curran, C Woakes, A Rashid, M Wood
