IND vs. BAN: Bowlers Shine as Bangladesh bundled out for 150

Team India dominated Day 1 of the first test as they bowled out Bangladesh for 150 in their first innings. Indian bowlers were again at their best as they ran through Bangladesh’s line up. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers for India who finished with figures of 3/27. Ishant Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav picked up two wickets each as they wrapped up Bangladesh’s innings just after the tea break. India was 86/1 with Mayank and Pujara unbeaten at stumps on Day 1.

Apart from the toss, nothing went in Bangladesh’s way as the visitors struggled to get going. Both their openers, Shadman and Kayes, struggled in the middle as Umesh and Ishant sent both the openers back to the pavilion. Captain Mominul and Mithun tried to steady the ship, but the latter could not last long. Experienced player of Bangladesh, Musfiqul Rahim, joined the skipper, and they managed to take their side through lunch without any further damage.

But soon after lunch, Mominul misjudged Ashwin's slider and got bowled on 37. Mahmudullah’s stay at the crease didn’t last long as well. Ashwin sent him packing on 10. After that, Bangladesh couldn’t fight back as they collapsed for 150.

Barring the wicket of Rohit Sharma, Bangladesh bowlers have had to toil hard as Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara cruised along. The hosts are trailing by just 64 with nine wickets in hand.

India will look to bat long and establish a big lead on Day 2 while on the other hand, Bangladesh will hope that a new day will change their fortune.
