IND vs AUS: 5 Indian Players Including Rohit Sharma Put in Isolation

Five Indian cricketers are being isolated and investigated for a potential COVID-19 bubble breach following a Twitter post by an Indian fan. An Indian fan, Navaldeep Singh shared a video, and five Indian players Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini, and Prithvi Shaw were seen eating at a Melbourne restaurant. The following incident raised a question on breaking the biosecurity protocols set by Cricket Australia.

The Indian fan paid the bill for the players and took pictures with Indian players. CA also released a statement and they had a discussion with BCCI on biosecurity protocols.

"In the interim, on the advice of the Australian and Indian medical teams, the aforementioned players have been placed in isolation as a precautionThis will include separating the group of players from the broader Indian and Australian squads when traveling and at the training venue” read the CA’s statement.

It also adds, "Players will be permitted to train in accordance with the strict protocols that have been put in place to ensure the ongoing safety of all members of the Indian and Australian squads.”
